Windows registry is a basically a database file and a vital part of the Windows operating system.
It is maintained by the operating system to store information about the hardware and software configuration of the PC. Any change that is made to the system is stored in the registry as an entry.
Whenever you install or uninstall any software or even add or remove a hardware component or make change in the PC settings through the control panel, the registry is updated and a new entry is added to the file.
